How is it possible that you can charge me for my sales unless you have my sales data?
-
We do not have any personally identifiable data. We only have access to aggregated and anonymized data that is needed to provide the service to you and charge you for the services. We can talk to you in detail about our architecture and data security strategy if you would like to set up a separate meeting with our engineering team to discuss.
Of course the software would be worth it if I made an extra 2%, but what if I don’t? Then I am just giving margin away to you. How can I be sure it is actually increasing my margins?
-
WeSellCellular is a customer of PhoneX and we pay PhoneX to use the software, which is why we can tell you with confidence that we saw this result.
-
The good news is that we are so confident in the PhoneX software’s ability to improve your business that you can cancel the contract at any point in time. You can also start using it with very little start up cost. You can simply use spreadsheets to upload your inventory and you download your orders. There is no integration required. If you are not getting the value you can simply cancel it.
-
PhoneX is willing to put its money where its mouth is. You can have a FREE trial of the software for [x number of months]. If you do not see the value in it, you can cancel, free of charge.
-
Why would I need this software when I have been offered something similar at a much lower rate and it acts as an ERP? OR That’s more than I pay for Netsuite. How can I pay that much?
-
(if you don’t now). Do you mind sharing what software you are using? Does this software enable you to list inventory online in real time and allow buyers to make offers on your inventory? How many SKUs do you manage? Will the software enable you to manage prices across hundreds of SKUs by showing you the real time analytics on each SKU in real time? PhoneX is a selling platform specific to selling pre-owend phones, which we do not believe exists in the market.
-
We have seen some companies get regular ERP systems and think that they have everything they need to manage the business. An ERP system may be necessary to track your inventory and provide accounting information, but it is not a sales platform. ERP systems are generic and do not fill the specific needs of this industry. From what you told me, you need a solution that lets you collect and respond to offers so you can sell to more customers with fewer employees, get instant data on how much you are making on each SKU, and analyze data on your profitability. ERP systems are not designed for this.

I can’t justify giving up 50 [45, 40] basis points. That is way too much?
-
We have found that many companies feel this way until they understand the value that they are getting from the software. I have mentioned that WeSellCellular’s profitability after using the platform went from $2M to $5M and our margins increased from 8-12%. Giving away 10% of this increase in profitability is clearly worth it for us. We keep 90% of the added profit!
-
For small companies: It is important to note that while 50 basis points may seem like a lot, given the amount of volume you do in a month, this amounts to just [.5% multiplied by revenue, which is $2500 for a company doing $500K] per month. If the software freed up 50% of your time or enabled you to operate with fewer staff, wouldn’t this be a small investment? And, if the software enables you to add more customers and generate even 1% of additional margin, isn’t the investment a no brainer?
-
For medium companies: It is important to note that while 45 basis points may seem like a lot, given the amount of volume you do in a month, this amounts to just [.45% multiplied by revenue, which is $9000 for a company doing $2M per month]. If the software freed up 50% of your sales reps time, or enabled you to operate with even one fewer sales rep, wouldn’t it pay for itself? And, if the software enables you to add more customers and generate even 1% of additional margin, isn’t the investment a no brainer?
-
-
You are just a software company? Why does your pricing have anything to do with my revenu or growth? Software companies never ask me about my revenue or my growth. If I grow my business why should you benefit when you are just providing me a service?
-
PhoneX’s goal is to partner with you to increase your profitability. As mentioned, this platform enabled WeSellCellular’s profitability to increase from about $2M to $5M. PhoneX was able to accomplish this by partnering closely with WeSellCellular to continuously add efficiency to the business and drive up profitability. We realized that PhoneX is not the cheapest solution, but it is an investment that paid off dramatically. After seeing the results, we felt that it was fair to pay a small percentage of the value that the software created for us. Wouldn’t you be willing to pay a small percent of incremental profit?
-
This pricing structure is not uncommon for a software company. For instance, Shopify’s B2B platform charges a similar percentage of GMV
-
PhoneX wants to have its incentives aligned with its customers. Unlike most software solutions, we provide mission critical software that drives profitability. PhoneX’s goal is to help its customers grow and grow with them. However, we feel that we are only going to take a small percentage of the value that it creates. If at any time our customers do not feel that they are getting enough value, they can cancel anytime.
-
-
Even if you give me entry pricing, I don’t want to put in all the effort if it is going to eventually move to higher pricing. Are you going to raise pricing?
-
Our goal is to make it as frictionless as possible to get up and running. We do not anticipate a lot of work to get set up. While we recommend that you integrate via API, you can also get started simply by uploading inventory and pricing through a spreadsheet, so your up front investment can be very minimal.
-
Can I try out the software with one sales rep and a small number of phones to see if it works?
-
Yes, if you want you can do this. However, we recommend moving all of your volume over for at least six months so that you get the full benefit of the platform. The core benefit of the platform is to get all of your customers bidding and competing and to get all of your data in one place. You will not get the same benefit if you only put a subset of your customers on, but you can do this if you want.
-
-
In the future are there going to be more fees when you add features like onboarding or things I am not thinking of.
-
You will be getting standard upgrades to the product which will not cost you anything. Our plan is to continuously improve the product and we do not anticipate charging for these improvements. We cannot say that we would never charge additional fees, however, especially if we come up with brand new services or offerings, but at the moment we do not have plans to change the pricing structure. Our primary goal is to be your long term partner and ensure that we build software that increases your profits. It is in our interest to continue to make the platform better.
