About PhoneX India    
PhoneX India is being set up in Kochi as a core extension of our US product engineering organization. This is not an offshore delivery, client staffing, or back-office engineering role. The goal is to build a serious product engineering, platform operations, and innovation hub in India. The people we hire early will help shape the technical foundation, engineering culture, and operating model for PhoneX India from the beginning.    
   
The Role    
We are looking for a hands-on engineer to join the founding India team and contribute directly to real production systems from day one. You will build and ship features across our cloud-native SaaS platform, work closely with senior engineers to grow your depth, and take ownership of well-scoped components end to end. This role is ideal for someone earlier in their career who wants to work on a real product — not client projects — learn from strong engineers, and build credibility through solid, hands-on contribution.    
   
What You'll Do    

• Build, test, and ship features and services across the platform alongside senior engineers    

• Own well-scoped components end to end — implementation through deployment and production support    

• Write clean, tested, reviewable code and take part actively in code reviews    

• Debug and fix production issues in your area, learning how the system actually behaves    

• Use AI tools to improve your own development speed and code quality    

• Grow your depth in TypeScript/Node.js, AWS, and the wider stack with mentorship    

• Help build a high-quality engineering culture as one of the founding India team    

    
Ideal Profile    

• 2–5 years of solid engineering experience building real software

• Working backend experience with TypeScript and Node.js

• Exposure to building or running applications on AWS (cloud-native SaaS)

• Familiarity with APIs and how event-driven / distributed systems fit together

• Hands-on with some of: React, TypeScript, Java/Spring Boot, relational databases, caching, CI/CD, observability

• Comfortable reading and working within an existing codebase

• Solid debugging instincts, a strong ownership mindset, and genuine eagerness to learn

• Real interest in using AI pragmatically to build better and faster
